A Finished Quilt Top!

I'm pleased to say I've finished up the quilt top I've been working on for myself. It came together so quickly once all those squares were cut.

I planned it as a lap quilt but it's turned out bigger than I anticipated. I'm a tall person and find that throw rugs are always too short to cover me completely so I made this one extra long. I also have a thing for square quilts so it's extra wide too. I'm not looking forward to pushing so much bulk around during quilting but I can't wait to have it done!

It finished at 72" x 72". Long enough for all of me to snuggle under and wide enough to fit the whole family! It doesn't look too shabby on the bed either!

Happy to be linking up to Finish It Up Friday over at Crazy Mom Quilts. This is a first for me! Usually I'm to be found at WIP Wednesday...

And I thought you might like to see this out take... this happens every time I put a quilt on the ground. Every. Time. At least I know he loves them! (and it's just occurred to me that his clothes match the quilt... ummm... I guess I like these colours more than I realised!)

  1. Love your fabrics! Well done on the finish! I'm similar, I struggle to get things past WIPs. Or it is too much fun reading about what other people have done. :-)

    1. Thanks Taryn. I'm relatively new to quilting so trying not to get a big WIP pile like I have for other crafts I've done. It's hard when there's so many amazing things to try though!

    1. I do!! So much smiling going on! And those soothing colours make me want to nap. I'm sorely tempted to snuggle up under the unquilted top :-)
